PathWest has a number of different methods
for delivery of pathology results. One, or a combination
of methods, can be employed - whatever is most
convenient for our requesting customer.
The conventional postal service has traditionally
been the usual method by which our requesting
doctors have opted to receive their pathology
results.
However, there is an increasing trend towards
more automated systems. PathWest is at the forefront
of the development of electronic delivery systems,
all for the purpose of seamlessly catering to
the preferences of our customers. (see PathWest Direct)
Once your pathology result, or suite of results,
have been determined, our reporting system will
automatically dial a dedicated fax number which
you’ve provided us with, and transmit the
report. The report will be identical in format
to the report sent through the post.
We can have Autofax set up and faxing
to you within 24 hours.
PathWest Direct is a secure electronic results delivery
system. It allows PathWest
pathology results to be rapidly and reliably delivered directly to
your location. The system only requires an internet connection and can be installed on any Windows operating system from Windows 98 onwards, including notebook computers for mobile clients.
Medical practice clients
can have the system interfaced with compatible practice clinical software, allowing results to be imported, reviewed and filed directly into patient's files.
For commercial clients and medical clients without compatible software, an additional Report Viewer program can also be installed, allowing viewing and printing of all received reports.
PathWest Direct is provided and supported free of charge to referring clients.
